"Three Sisters" oil on linen, 34" x 46"

The youngest sister was preparing to graduate from high school when I received this commission. She asked to wear her white graduation dress for the portrait. Her older sisters thought it was a grand idea and decided to purchase beautiful white dresses to wear for the painting also. During one of the sittings, the sisters made a solemn pact; to eventually use their "portrait" dresses as bridal gowns! With the passing years, I eventually lost touch with these girls. I often wonder what became of the charming plan they made on that lovely summer day.
