The process begins with a phone conversation about the size, pose, colors, background of the painting and location where the photos will be taken. It also helps to see where a portrait will hang. An appointment will be made for a photo session at the location of your choosing. From this information the price is determined.
At the first meeting, details are further discussed and photographs are taken using natural lighting when possible. This usually takes 1 to 2 hours.
In the studio sketches will be made from the reference photos showing the pose and background as discussed, which can be mailed, emailed or shown for approval or adjustments.
The finished painting is presented at the final meeting.

Portrait sizes are approximate depending on composition and size of
subject. Other sizes are available on request.
The prices listed are for a single subject. Extra figures in a painting
are an additional 50%. There is also an extra charge for very detailed
or complex backgrounds.
Pencil portraits start at $350.00 when photo is provided. Pricing for
house and pet portraits available on request.
A signed agreement and 30% nonrefundable deposit are required. Another
30% is due on approval of sketches. Balance of 40% is due upon delivery
of painting.
The artist has worked solely from photographs supplied by the client.
Photos can be reviewed to see if they provide good reference material
for a portrait.
Prices do not include framing, shipping or sales tax. Watercolors and
pencil drawings should be framed under glass.
