Upcoming Workshop
Thomas Nash will be conducting a four day Portrait Painting workshop in the Atlanta area (Norcross) January 25 through the 28th of 2007. There is still time to register.

Comments from some who have studied with Tom:

"I've taken workshops all over the country, and no one teaches like Tom does". —Carolyn Doherty, Alpharetta, GA
"I LOVE painting people. What I've learned from you has helped immensely." —C.V. Springer, Cumming, GA

This exciting opportunity is being sponsored by the Portrait Society of Atlanta. The workshop will feature a generous ratio of models to students, classroom lectures and demonstrations by Tom. Each artist will be assisted individually at their easel by the instructor.

As he has shown at his 2005 Academy and his prior workshops, Tom will use his innovative and creative techniques to teach the timeless art of Portrait Painting.

For workshop details and hotel information please contact us.

MDA: We would like to thank all of our friends, fellow artists, neighbors and portrait customers who so generously contributed to our recent Muscular Dystrophy fundraiser. It was a lot of fun and a great success for Jerry's Kids.

Nash Selected to Paint Former Mayor of Atlanta, Maynard Jackson
Nash's most recent public commission is to paint another former Mayor of Atlanta Georgia. Nash's portrait of Maynard Jackson will hang at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

In addition to recognizing his stature and ability as a painter of official portraits, the selection of Thomas Nash to paint the late Mayor is just one more acknowledgment of Nash's particular skills as a specialist in the painting of the posthumous portrait.

Oct 2005 Portrait Academy a Resounding Success
Over 120 artists from nine states came to Nash's one-day portrait “Academy” to watch and listen to Tom's innovative approach to teaching portraiture. more

Recent Work

Portrait of Jane

"Portrit Paintin' Blues" T-Shirts Now Available

Because one can never have too many T-Shirts, we made some based on Tom's music CD "Portrit" Paintin' Blues. These were first introduced at the October, 2005 Academy. more

New Web Site Sections

This site will continually expand in order to illustrate what Thomas Nash does and can do for you. Here are some of the most recent additions.

Tom's Travel Schedule: Learn when Tom may already have plans to be in your state or town. Contact Nash studio for an informal, no obligation meeting to discuss commissioning a portrait or private or class teaching opportunities. more

Posthumous Portraits: Thomas Nash excels at the posthumous portrait. Because of his many years of painting individuals from life, he is able to bring a sense of life to those paintings that of necessity must be made with nothing more than existing photos and the artist's skill and imagination. more

Unveilings:
Unveiling parties or ceremonies are fun and we encourage them whenever possible for both public and private commissions. This section includes photos taken on these special occasions. more

Portraits in their settings:
We recognize that seeing any painting reproduced by itself on the computer screen doesn't always give one a sense of it's scale or how it appears in the “real world”. Visit this section to better visualize some portraits in their settings. more

Coming Soon:
Giclees of Plein Air paintings and of Portraits. Inquire.
