add to the above cost and will be quoted beforehand. Travel expenses,
framing, shipping, and applicable sales taxes are additional.
Deposit 25% deposit is due at the first sitting. An additional
25% is due on approval of composition sketch and prior to start
of painting. The remaining 50% balance is due upon satisfactory
completion and delivery of your portrait painting. For your
convenience, we also accept MasterCard and Visa.
PROCEDURE:
The process begins with a meeting between the client and the artist
to discuss portrait details, such as: single person or group portrait,
pets or furnishings to be included, the desired mood and clothing
for the painting (formal or casual), background (indoor or outdoor),
and where you plan to hang your finished portrait. These details
help determine the size and price of your portrait.
Upon agreement, a sitting is scheduled. This is a photography session
with the artist at the clients home, office, or desired background
location. The session will take one to two hours depending on the
complexity of the composition and number of figures portrayed.
The photography will be shown to you for your comments. Taking
your comments into consideration, preliminary studies are prepared
for your review before the painting is started.
The oil portrait is created in the artists studio using the
selected photos and studies for reference. Live sittings are encourged
for adults depending on time availability and proximity to the Menlo
Park, CA studio.
