| Linda Anderson is a full time, professional portrait artist living and
working in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She received a Bachelor of Arts
and a Masters degree from the University Of Michigan in Ann Arbor. In 1980
she began ten years of private studies under such distinguished artists
as classical painter D. Jeffrey Mims of Southern Pines, North Carolina;
contemporary colorist and portraitist Tom Moore, of Fayetteville, North
Carolina; and classical realist Margo Torgerson Dodge of Huntsville, Alabama.
In 1990 Anderson embarked on a career in portraiture. The bulk of her work is made up of commissioned individual and family portraits. Her clients also include private foundations as well as educational and corporate organizations. Anderson is best known for subtle gradations of color by which she achieves a lifelike, three- dimensional quality of the subject. Her works characteristically have well-developed, full-coloured backgrounds. Poses and settings are thoughtfully chosen to reflect the personality of the subject. Anderson is a member of The Pastel Society of America, a juried professional
association of artists. She also belongs to the American Society Of Portrait
Artists and the Society of Classical Realism. |
