This demo will run on Windows 98 and Windows 2000 operating systems.
You are invited to download and use this demo to experience a software
version of the InCharge System 3000, Version 4.0 remote-access
digital video system with a variety of color and black & white
live video cameras of various quality levels, providing views from
the Corporation's premises in Tucson, Arizona. Keep in mind that the
hardware version of the InCharge System 3000 Version 4.0 provides
image resolution and playback rates which are superior to the
software version shown in this demo.
Please print these instructions for your convenience, before proceeding
to the Download and Installation of the InCharge Demo. If you are
using Netscape Navigator as your Internet web browser, be sure to
change to "black text" in your browser's 'page setup'
before printing.
Follow These Instructions to Download and Install the InCharge System
3000, Version 4.0 Demo:

this page, a dialog window entitled "WinZip Self Extractor"
will appear. Click on the "Setup" button. The download
will proceed automatically.
2. A new dialog window will appear, presenting the Applied Integration
InCharge Software License Agreement. Click "Yes" to continue.
3. A new dialog window will appear, presenting the "Readme
File." Click on "Next" to continue.
4. A new dialog window will appear, entitled "Destination
Folder." It informs you that it wants to create an InCharge
System' Folder on your computer in which to save your InCharge Demo.
Click on "Next" and then on "Yes."
5. A new dialog window will appear, entitled "Setup Type."
The word All' is highlighted. Click on "Next."
6. A new dialog window will appear, entitled "Select Program
Folder." This provides you with the opportunity to name the
program that will appear in your "Programs" menu under
your "Start" button functions. You can give it any name
you wish, or leave it at the default name. When ready, click on
"Next."
7. A new dialog window will appear, entitled "InCharge System
Setup." It informs you that your installation is complete.
Click on "OK."
8. On your desktop display, locate the new InCharge Viewer Demo
icon. Double-click on it to launch it.
9. The InCharge System 3000 Viewer window appears. Locate the button
labeled "Connect" in the left-side panel of the InCharge
Viewer window, and click on it. This causes the InCharge System
3000 Demo to connect to the InCharge System 3000 Demo Server at
Applied Integration Corporation in Tucson, Arizona.
10. If many other Demo users are simultaneously present, it will
take the System a little while to get connected. The Getting
Connected' dialog window may appear, disappear, and re-appear several
times while the System achieves your connection. Please wait patiently.
When you are connected, you will see the live camera views appear
in the viewing window. If the System is swamped with more Demo users
than it can support, you will see a dialog window informing you
that the Server has reached its capacity, and asking you to try
again later.
11. In the lower center-left area of the InCharge Viewer window,
all the currently available, active video cameras are listed. The
cameras in this list which are highlighted in blue are the cameras
whose views are displayed in the viewing window.
If it is night time in Tucson, Arizona, U.S.A., you will find many
black camera views. Please visit us again when it is day time in
Tucson, Arizona!
12. To change the camera(s) currently displayed, you can use your
computer mouse to select the camera views you wish to see. You can
select all, one, or any combination thereof. You can click
and drag' to select all, or select one at a time, or hold down the
Ctrl' key on your keyboard while selecting multiple desired
cameras with left-clicks of the mouse. The cameras which you select
will be displayed in the viewer window.
13. You can double-click on any displayed camera view, and it will
become the only camera displayed, and will occupy the entire viewing
window. Double-clicking again on that camera view returns you to
the multi-camera view.
14. Notice the red outline of one of the camera views. The red
outline means that camera is selected. You can click once on any
camera's view to select it; you will see the red outline appear
there. The selected camera can be viewed with the zoom feature.
You can zoom in and zoom out of the selected camera's view by right-clicking
and left-clicking with the mouse. The zoom target is the position
of the cursor-arrow on your computer screen. Or, you can use the
zoom keypad in the lower left corner of the InCharge Viewer window
to zoom in and zoom out. When using the zoom keypad, use the direction-specifying
buttons to the right of the zoom keypad to guide the target of your
zooming.
15. Another feature of the selected camera (the view outlined in
red) is the information provided regarding that camera in the lower
center-right of the InCharge Viewer window. As you change the selected
camera, notice that the camera information changes to reflect your
selections.
16. For this software-only Demo version of the InCharge System
3000, notice that four of the function buttons in the left-side
border area of the InCharge Viewer are unavailable. Of course for
all purchased products, all the function-buttons work. However for
this software-only Demo, we will omit those that are unavailable,
and explore the remainder from top to bottom.
17. Save As Bitmap: Clicking on "Save As Bitmap" results
in the appearance of a "Save Location" dialog window in
which you may specify the location to save the displayed camera's
image. The images which are present at the moment you click on "Save
As Bitmap" are the images which will be saved. All of the camera
views currently displayed in the viewing window will be saved; each
camera will, in turn, present its own "Save Location"
dialog window for you to specify the location in which to save the
image. After you have specified the saving location, click on "Save"
to save the image there as a bitmap. Or, if you decide not to save
the image, click on "Cancel" and no image will be saved.
When you are finished exploring "Save As Bitmap," you
must click on the "Stream Live" button to return to the
live streaming digital video.
18. Print Display: Clicking on "Print Display" results
in the appearance of a "Print" dialog window, allowing
you to specify the printer you wish to use. Click on the "Properties"
button in the "Print" dialog window, and notice that you
can choose to print either in portrait orientation or in landscape
orientation. Printing in landscape orientation provides a larger
version of the camera view printed in portrait orientation. Each
displayed camera view will be printed, as of the moment you clicked
on the "Print Display" button. Each camera view will occupy
its own page, and it will be stamped with the camera number, the
picture size in bytes, and the date and time the image was captured
by the camera. The key idea to remember is that all of the currently-displayed
camera views will be printed; if you don't want to print them all,
then select just the camera(s) you want before clicking on the "Print
Display" button. When you are done exploring the "Print
Display" button, you must click on the "Stream Live"
button to return to the live streaming digital video.
19. Logged Users: Clicking on the "Logged Users" button
results in the appearance of a dialog window called "Users
List." This window lists each currently-active Demo user either
by their Username or by the generic name guest' followed by
a number. You have the ability to send an instant message to any
other currently-logged-on user by double-clicking on their name
in the "Users List" window. When you double-click on their
name in the list, a "Send to [username] " window appears
in which you can type your message. When you are finished creating
your message, click on "Send" to send your message instantly
to the other user, or click on "Cancel" if you don't want
to send a message. The recipient of your message will immediately
be presented with a dialog window displaying your message. They
must click on "OK" to close that message window. When
you are finished using the "Users List" window, click
on "OK" to close it. Notice that the live digital video
stream was not interrupted by this procedure.
20. Time Search: "Time Search" is your tool for playing
back recorded video. Clicking on "Time Search" results
in the appearance of a window entitled "Date Time Search."
In this window you can specify a time period by start time and stop
time. Highlight the numerals you wish to change, and enter your
desired numerals; or use the up and down arrows on your keyboard
to change the highlighted numerals. When you are satisfied with
your changes, click on "OK."
A new dialog window then appears, asking you to wait while the
System searches for the recorded video. As soon as the video is
located, it will begin playing back behind the "Please Wait"
window. All the currently-displayed camera views will play back
simultaneously, assuming that video recorded from them exists for
the time period you have specified. If you don't want to see all
of the camera views, select just the view(s) you want before clicking
on "Time Search." If the System can't find recorded video
for the time period you have specified, that means it doesn't exist.
Click again on "Time Search" and specify a different period
of time before clicking "OK."
When you click on the "X" in the upper right corner of
the "Please Wait" window, the video playback stream will
pause and the "Please Wait" window will disappear. You
can then use the right- and left-pointing arrows in the lower left-side
area of the InCharge Viewer window to unpause the playback stream.
The double-arrows will result in continuous playback, either backward
(left-pointing) or forward (right-pointing). The single-arrows will
result in playback one frame at a time, either backward (left-pointing)
or forward (right-pointing). Click on any of these buttons to activate
them and click them again to de-activate them.
When you have paused the playback stream on an image of interest
to you, that is your opportunity to use the "Save As Bitmap"
and/or "Print Display" buttons.
21. X Skip: Notice the function called "X Skip" in the
lower left-side area of the InCharge Viewer window. You can use
this feature to move through the playback stream more quickly. When
you enter a numeral into the box below "X Skip," the playback
stream will skip that many frames of video between displayed frames.
For example, if you enter a '1' into "X Skip," the playback
stream will display alternating frames of video, instead of each
frame. Enter the numeral of your choice by using the spin-dial located
below the word "X Skip." Then click on either the forward
or the backward double-arrow button to begin your video playback.
When you are finished exploring the playback functions of the InCharge
System 3000, you may click on the "Stream Live" button
if you wish to return to the live streaming digital video.
22. When you're done viewing the Applied Integration Corporation
live video views, click on the "Disconnect" button to
close your network connection with the InCharge System 3000 Server.
To close the program, click on the "X" in the upper right
corner.
23. The InCharge System 3000 Demo and the Demo icon will remain
available on your computer unless you intentionally delete it. If
you want to remove the Demo program, do not delete the icons. Rather,
run the "Uninstall" program which can be found in Start,
Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. Please come back and
visit Applied Integration Corporation's premises again!
