The Portrait Procedure
After your initial inquiry, Mallory
Agerton will present her portfolio and discuss your
requirements and questions about portraits. She will
also assist you in choosing the subject's clothing,
pose and setting. Agerton works step by step with you
to insure that your painting will be a classic portrait.
After your first meeting, she schedules a photography
session at your convenience. The photographic session
will take about an hour. Occasionally, the artist does
a brief sitting from life. Together, you select photographs
which will be used as reference material for the painting.
At her studio, Agerton starts to develop your portrait
through drawings and a color study. With your approval,
she begins the painting on hand-primed Belgian linen.
She uses the finest professional materials available
to assure your portrait will be heirloom quality. Agerton
delivers your completed portrait and makes any minor
adjustments required. She will also assist you with
frame selection.
Mallory Agerton always achieves a close likeness for
her clients and enjoys working with them to find the
right expression that captures their inner beauty or
strength of character. She feels it is a joy to create
a work of art which can be a treasured legacy for generations.
